A major legal conflict has begun in Greece over whether the police can use traffic cameras to spy on and prosecute violent demonstrators. A senior prosecutor,backed by the Conservative government,says the cameras can be used. But Greece’s privacy watchdog,the Data Protection Authority,says such a move is illegal.
